A circular steel frame is fitted with a number of equally spaced screws. A single thread runs continuously from one screw to another to approximate the image you provide. There is nothing but thread within the frame, so the absence of thread will allow you to see through to the background wall. In the language of geometry, the knit is created as a series of chords of a circle.
